Job Description:
Geocycle has an immediate opening for self-starting, results-oriented, experienced Chemist in Holly Hill, SC.
The plant Chemist will be responsible to ensure accurate analysis of all materials received at the facility for consideration or use as HWDF. Operate all analytic equipment for qualifying, receiving, and tendering of HWDF materials. Maintain all analytic equipment in accordance with safety and quality control procedures and troubleshoot minor equipment problems. Analyze output from laboratory equipment and recommend changes to process based on lab results. Assist the Laboratory Manager and/or Senior Chemist in coordinating routine activities in the laboratory. Follow all safety procedures, check for safety hazards, take correction action to eliminate safety hazards. Adhere to facility environmental policies and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written): ability to express written and verbal information in a clear, concise, well-organized manner. Demonstrated ability to facilitate a meeting and lead group discussions towards consensus. Ability to build strategic working relationships with staff and team members. Demonstrated technical proficiency for area of responsibility and the ability to translate technical information to non-technical staff.

Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelors degree with an emphasis in chemistry, and have had experience in a laboratory or technical work environment. He/she must have working knowledge of computers, mathematics, physics, and chemistry, as well as knowledge of laboratory equipment, specifically GC, calorimeter, and ICP is preferred.
