Job Description:
Your Role With the Company:
Production:
Manage all function of production planning, planting schedules, harvest yield tracking and follow up on key activities.
Implement key processes to ensure crop production availability and quality as needed by sales.
Analyze market conditions to determine acreage allocations.
Determine procedural changes in harvesting, grading, storage, and shipment for greater efficiency and accuracy.
Identify technical and business problems, investigate the causes and formulate solutions.
Supervise and assist in all stages of crop production and harvesting;
Crop Analysis:
Manage pest, disease and weed control programs.
Inspect farm to determine maturity dates of crops or to estimate potential crop damage from weather.
Team Management:
Develop a strong team committed to results and customer satisfaction.
Direct and coordinate worker activities, such as planting, irrigation, chemical application, harvesting, grading and record keeping.
Cost Management:
Plan finances and production to maintain farm progress against budgeted parameters.
Record information, such as production, farm management practices, and parent stock and prepares financial and operational reports.
Analyze yields, operational costs and financial returns of operations.
Prepare new or modified operational and business plans.
Job Requirements:
Education:
Bachelors degree in a agricultural field and 2-5 years growing and propagation experience ideally in a wholesale greenhouse operation 5+ acres in size.
Experience with organic crops
Fluent in both English and Spanish.
Skill Set:
Must be excellent with computers, spread sheets and analysis.
Previous knowledge/experience in production planning of agricultural crops is required.
Training, education or experience in agricultural crop management is essential.
Management experience with cost, budgets, monthly results is helpful.
Excellent written and oral communications and team development are needed.
