Job Description: Manage all aspects of operations to include daily operations, strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Provide direct supervision to the operations department through the Account and Field Managers. 2. Review performance against business plans and standards. Provide reports to subordinates on interpretation of results and approve changes in direction of plans. 3. Define and recommend objectives in each area of Operations. Develop specific short-term and long-term plans and programs together with supporting budget requests and financial estimates. Present monthly reports on performance against standards as requested by the President. 4. Assess and make recommendations to the President regarding matters that require executive level attention or approval. 5. Develop, recommend, and monitor site operation’s policies and procedures. 6. Coordinate and collaborate with other departments/areas of the company in establishing and carrying out responsibilities. 7. Develops plans for new areas of technology for the manufacturing functions along with sufficient planning for areas that support the mission of the Corporation. 8. Monitor and coordinate vendor activity through direct reports to ensure that they efficiently and effectively provide needed services while staying within budgetary limits. 9. Travel to remote client account sites on a regular basis. This includes air travel to certain areas which, at times, could involve lengthy stays. 10. Facilitate new processes, tools, communications, training, technical designs and methodologies to ensure client success across teams and departments throughout the company.
MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBLITIES:
1. Establish objectives and procedures governing the performance of assigned activities. Issue specific annual objectives to immediate subordinates and review objectives of the Operations management. 2. Assist in the recruiting, interviewing, and selection process regarding qualified personnel for all positions directly reporting to this position and also those reporting to the EVP/COO. 3. Identify training needs, initiate the development of subordinates, and recommend effective personnel action. 4. Develop and deliver weekly updates to EVP/COO. 5. Follow-up on all operational activities and respond to all issues in a timely manner. 6. Keep employees informed as to company/department plans and progress. 7. Consult with all segments of management responsible for policy or action. Ensure compliance within area of responsibility. Make recommendations for improving effectiveness of policies and procedures. 8. Review and endorse or revise budget proposals received from direct reports. Submit budgets for assigned activities in accordance with the budget procedure. Approve budget expenses up to authorized dollar amounts. 9. Provide orientation and on-the-job training for subordinates and ensure that the authority and responsibility for each position are defined and understood. 10. Attend training to develop relevant knowledge and skills. 11. Assume other activities and responsibilities from time to time as directed from the EVP/COO.
Job Requirements: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. B.S., in a Business discipline. 2. A minimum of two (2) years as an Operations Manager or five (5) years as an Operations Assistant Manager with the responsibilities of managing and delegating to subordinates, purchasing, inventory control, production control, as well as shipping, receiving, and warehousing mail. 3. Well-developed management skills of principles and people. 4. Experience in building strong relationships and excellent customer service skills required. 5. Experience in successful short and long term project management. 6. Able to understand profit and loss calculations and basic business finance, eg., gross margin percentages and calculations, depreciation, capital and revenue expenditure, cash-flow, overheads, etc. 7. Sound administrative skills; proficient with the following software: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Visio, Project, Outlook). Adobe Acrobat. 8. Experience in working in a nonunion environment. 9. Proven ability to recruit, train, coach and motivate personnel in order to balance staffing strength with profitability and growth.
