Job Description: The heavy construction equipment operator operates crawler and wheeled tractors with dozer attachments, scoop loader, motorized grader, and towed or self-propelled scraper. Interprets information on grate stakes. Clears, grubs, strips, excavates, backfills, ditches, stockpiles and pushes scraper with tractor crawler. Cuts and spreads full material with scraper. Excavates, stockpiles, backfills and loads with loader. Scarifies, spreads, and levels and constructs V ditch with grader. Transports heavy construction equipment with tractor trailer. A few duties performed are: Drive bull dozers, road graders and other heavy equipment to cut and level earth for runways and road beds. Lift and move steel and other heavy building materials using winches, cranes, and hoists. Remove iscae and snow from runways, roads, and other areas using scrapers and snow blowers. Place and detonate explosives. Drill wells using drilling rigs. Spread asphalt and concrete with paving machines. Will receive 16 college credits for training.
Job Requirements: -Have high school diploma, GED, HSED or at least completed 9th grade in high school. -Be between 17 and 37. -Have a valid drivers license. -Must pass military entrance exam with at least a 31. -Must meet physical requirements. -Have minimal law violations.
