Job Description:
Reduce machine cycle times, while maintaining dimensional demands of the finished parts. Reduce both set-up and in-process rejections by improving cutter paths, cutter selection, and equipment accuracy. Upgrade/recommend CAM program for maximum efficiency. Change all program from incremental to absolute, to better capacity and efficiency. Cross train all CNC operators. Loading and adjustment of programs into Thermwood (5 axis CNC) machines. Responsible for training/coaching the operator about problem areas or special concerns related to a particular job or process. Provide leadership in reducing set up times and meeting quick change goals and objectives. Create, modify, optimize, and improve cutting programs, by eliminating wasted moves, and matching cutter speed to material thickness, cutter type, and part complexity. Tramming of CNC trimming machines. Assist the CAD/Engineering departments in developing optimum pattern cutting paths. Develop testing programs/models to determine machine variability/repeatability. Develop testing programs/models to determine machine variability/repeatability. Develop and implement training instructions for all set up and operating personnel. Support Train the Trainer and skills based pay programs and objectives. Willing to assume a leadership role when required. Qualifications: High school diplom a or equivalent
