Special provides year-round athletic training and competition in more than 23 Olympic-type sports for individuals with intellectual disabilities and provides them with continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness skills, express courage, and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community. Position Description Responsible for taking a lead role in managing the financial aspects of the organization including timely submission of all financial reports to the president and board of directors, the state, federal and any other regulatory body. An experienced accountant to play a key role in our organization. Prepare budgets, financial statements, assist auditors in state audit, payroll, 401k plan, 5500, and other related functions. Supervise 2 staff and volunteers. Must have experience with computerized accounting program. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field. Three to five years accounting experience in a non-profit, government or similar setting. Working knowledge of spreadsheets and accounting program system. Critical characteristics for the right candidate include organized, detail oriented consistently and positively representing the organization internally and externally. Experience in working with or serving as a volunteer is a plus.
