Job Description:
Controller: Our client is an established division of a Larger Fortune 1000 Energy group. Based in the Western Suburbs of Chicago close to Naperville they now require a new Controller. Due to a promotion they are seeking a Controller to work with all departments within the company. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years Finance/Accounting and a desire to work in a progressive start-up alternative energy company. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller is a senior financial position, directing and managing the company's financial activities. The Controller must take an active role in strategic planning, financial analysis, policy development and deployment, problem resolution and financial communication to the senior management team through on-going financial analysis. The position has growth opportunity for advancement to CFO. Role: Develop and manage the execution of effective accounting policies and procedures for the company. Support business development through project financial analysis and pro forma development. Champion the development and management of annual and monthly budgets. Establish or recommends to management economic strategies, objectives and policies. Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues. Establish financial reporting systems and controls to ensure accurate measurement of financial performance. Manage annual reviews of company's budgets and oversees external auditing as needed. Manage relations with banks and other financial institutions. Advise company on appropriate use of technology in support of business goals. Supervise investment and raising of funds for the business. Experience: Person: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline. An Advanced degree is a plus. Experience in financial reporting, forecasting, modeling and analysis, cash flow management. Project analysis and finance experience. Strong working knowledge of financial/accounting systems. Ability to work in a dynamic and diverse work environment utilizing analytical skills, critical thinking and creativity. Demonstrated outstanding oral and written communication skills including group presentations. Strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities. CPA is preferred. Experience with alternative energy companies is a major plus.
