Job Description: GL Analyst - Asset & Inventory Telecommunications Services / Finance / Accounting - Accountant Full-time / New York - Westchester - White Plains Base Salary - $55,000 - $60,000 Benefits – Full Bonus Eligible - Yes
Position Summary: Responsible for the Fixed Assets and Inventory accounts in the general ledger - balance sheet accounts and related income and expense accounts. Possess a good understanding of the inventory and fixed assets process. Understand and analyze transaction flow in and out of the general ledger. Provide support and communication to the management of the group. Work with IT and systems to ensure systems and data integrity with the implementation of the Great Plains asset sub-module. Provide ad hoc support on various projects as needed.
Responsibilities: - Analyze inventory and fixed asset balance sheet and associated income and expense general ledger accounts. - Calculate gain/loss on sales / disposals of assets and prepare journal entries. - Prepare fixed asset roll-forward schedule on a monthly. - Prepare monthly departmental reports needed for reporting by department. management or other departments as necessary. - Review journal entry of asset movements on a monthly basis. - Create and maintain written procedures regarding asset control and accounting. Comply with SOX and the company's internal control procedures/process. - Recognize and document any deviations in procedures and processes. - Facilitate implementation of asset sub-ledger module. - Communicate with department management and other finance / accounting areas on a timely basis. - Partner with other members of the finance/accounting team to exchange required information. - The individual must comply with departmental and corporate internal controls and all internal controls processes; - The individual must possess and employ the highest ethical and business standards and always conduct himself/herself with the greatest degree of professional integrity; - Miscellaneous other duties and responsibilities as may be requested or required by management.
Job Requirements: Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in accounting/ finance or equivalent. - Minimum of 3 years experience in similar position. - Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. - Inventory / asset control experience. - General Ledger software experience - Great Plains, preferred. - Solid Communications Skills (written and verbal). - Ability to multitask and organize. Time management skills. - Working knowledge of GAAP related to asset management. - Telecom experience a plus. - Team player. - Posses & employ high ethical standards - Experience related to SOX compliance, helpful. 2+ to 5 years of experience / Management Experience Required – No / Minimum Education - Bachelor's Degree / Willingness to Travel - Never
