Job Description:

Responsibilities include: Develop and establish the Company's accounting policies in accordance with Firm and regulatory standards. This will include working closely with various functions such as Actuarial, Tax, Finance as well as Corporate Accounting etc. Interpret accounting policies and practices and apply such policies and practices on behalf of the Company. Obtains consensus from Management on the implementation strategies etc. Develop and document accounting policy for future product introductions such as guaranteed minimum withdrawal benefit product. This will include working with the Product/Actuarial Department to understand the features of the product. Review and assess the Company's current accounting policies and control procedures. Determine current policies, analyze gaps and provide recommendations for improvement. Perform on-going review and documentation of such policies and procedures. Monitor regulatory developments and introductions of new accounting pronouncements and resulting impact to our client. Brief management on future changes to accounting practices. This will be accomplished by reviewing industry guidance and literature, attending industry conferences etc. Maintain an understanding of the insurance industry; specifically Firm and regulatory reporting issues and accounting principles.
