Job Description:
The Accounting Manager will also assist the Controller in the consolidation of accounting data, preparation of statements for management information, preparing recommendations for future financial plans, forecasts and policies.The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing operations of the Grants Department, including all grant related transactions relating to cash, receivables, fixed assets, payables, accrued or prepaid expenses, monthly grants agency financial invoicing and reporting. The Accounting Manager will also maintain the integrity of the General Ledger in full compliance with accepted financial practices, posts all authorized journal entries, propose entries as necessary, and prepare grant monthly and general ledger closing and monthly statement preparation. Experience: Qualified candidates must communicate effectively with people from varied social, educational, and economic backgrounds, be able to work without constant supervision, make decisions, and have good judgment, be able to handle multiple tasks and projects and prioritize based on departmental functionality, and be detail oriented with the ability to organize. A Bachelor's degree required in Accounting or related field, and 2-5+ years supervisory experience. CPA preferred, along with excellent mathematical, verbal and written skills.
