The candidate would ideally possess at least 5 years of solid accounting experience either in public accounting or private industry. This would include experience in General Ledger account analysis and reconciliation, month end financial statement preparation & analysis, auditing, and a solid knowledge of Firm. Area controllers must have an advanced knowledge of Excel and be able to utilize spreadsheet applications for detailed financial and analytical purposes. This role will have ultimate responsibility for ensuring that the basic accounting functions of customer billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections and payroll processing are done accurately and efficiently at each branch location- responsible for 5 locations! This means that the Area Controller will also be responsible for supervising all administrative assistants performing accounting and administrative functions and will have an integral role in working with the General Manager and Region Controller in hiring and training administrative employees. The Area Controller will have the responsibility for managing an efficient and organized administrative area, and the development of the administrative staff. Will be responsible for ensuring that financial statements accurately represent the activity and financial condition of the branch at any given point in time; revenues and expenses are captured accurately in the period in which they occur. Area Controllers will ensure that billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll functions are completed by specified deadlines.
