Job Description:
BASIC FUNCTION: Coordinates and assists in the proper accounting and reporting of products according to Statutory Accounting Practices (SAP), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and federal and state tax laws and regulations. Prepares and analyzes complex product line financial results. Analyzes the various insurance related systems to ensure accuracy of product information and identify potential enhancements to improve efficiency.
Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in accounting required or bachelors in finance or other business degree/Masters Degree in Accounting, with directly related experience may be considered. CPA preferred or working toward a CPA may be considered. Minimum three years of relevant professional accounting experience. Knowledge of Statutory and GAAP accounting and reporting requirements. Experience in general ledger and system interface controls; proven leadership and decision making skills. Desirable Requirements: Understanding of insurance and investment products and the financial services industry including Northwestern Mutual's business functions, products, and operations.
