Job Description:
Position Summary
The Junior Staff Accountant will be involved with the daily financial process with focus in the accounts payable area. The position will be located in Boston, Mass and will report to the Controller.
Responsibilities:
•Responsible for accounts payable of our domestic corporation
•Review general ledger coding on invoices
•Enter invoices and Purchase Orders into Great Plains
•Assist in Purchase Order process
•Responding to vendor inquiries regarding status on accounts
•Obtain department head approval for Accounts Payable invoices
•Prepare bank wiring instructions.
•Print checks for disbursement for domestic and international entries
•Record daily check and wire disbursements.
•Help with the month-end close process.
Job Requirements:
Requirements
•Must have 1 year corporate experience or accounts payable experience.
•Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent work experience.
•Accounting System Experience Required, Great Plains preferred
•Computer Knowledge: Excel, Word
•Verbal Communication skills a must
•Ability to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion
•Must be able to work independently
