Job Description:
The incumbent of this position researches complex accounting and finance issues, resolves problems, makes recommendations, and prepares reports; Evaluates the operation of the financial systems, analyzes transactions for adequate documentation, reliability of information, accuracy of computation, proper classification, compliance with accounting policies and procedures and assurance of proper treatment in the general ledger. Analyzes and reconciles a variety of general ledger accounts. The incumbent must maintain an authoritative knowledge of the client's financial systems, complex regulations, policies and procedures, both internal and external to the Studies client work processes to provide recommendations in an effort to standardize processes for effective and efficient customer service. As a supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for coordinating work assignments, directing operations of subordinates, filling vacant positions, establishing performance standards, providing performance ratings, approving leave, and handling disciplinary actions, etc. Qualifications: All qualification requirements, including time-in-grade restrictions and/or selective factors, must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Applicants for the GS- 11 grade level must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-Firm9 level. Applicants for the GS-11 grade level may qualify based on 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. Applicants for the GS-12 grade level must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level.
