Job Description:
Firm is seeking an individual to fill a senior-level position that will manage projects and/or tasks in environment and transportation planning projects in a collaborative setting with multiple disciplines. The Chicago office includes talented planners, engineers and architects that pursue creative collaboration in an office specializing in environmental and transportation planning. The successful candidate will manage and guide assigned projects through completion. Must demonstrate a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in directing projects of significant importance. Supervises a group of planners and/or technicians. Work requires extensive contact with governmental agencies, contractors, the public and other personnel. Responsible for interacting with clients and potential clients in pursuit of new work opportunities. Experience with procedures and requirements are desirable. The candidate must have excellent research, analytical, problem-solving, writing and communication skills in an office specializing in transportation and environmental planning. This position requires a bachelor's degree in planning, environmental sciences, engineering, or a related field (a master's degree is a plus); a minimum of 15+ years relevant experience; knowledge of and an understanding of Illinois state and local agency practices. MAJOR DUTIES: · Oversees the preparation of budget for department · Recruits and retains other key staff · Oversees the schedule performance for projects · Trains and coaches project managers on business development.
