Job Description:
An undergraduate or graduate degree in Civil Engineering with a Professional Engineer license. 12+ years experience working on progressively larger projects with greater responsibility. Established credibility as someone who can deliver a project on time and within budget. Technically astute and able to follow and critique complex issues related to design, construction, regulatory permits, finance and politics. A goal-oriented problem solver. Prior management experience overseeing teams of professionals for a design or construction management projects. Has been instrumental in winning work for his/her previous employer, on at least one project, with fees over $1,FirmFirmFirm,FirmFirmFirm. Has current, established relationships in upper management with major freight railroad entities. For pursuits, should be able to assemble a team, structure the proposal approach, manage the interview and, if successful, oversee the work, This would probably be in the capacity of a Program Manager or Senior Project Manager. On occasion, at the client\'s insistence, the successful candidate would devote himself/herself to a single project on a full time basis. Has potential to work on national-scale projects. Experience in Bridge and Facility design a plus. Ability to be involved with rail related projects involving intermodal, ports, and industrial development type projects. Ideally, candidate should be well known in the railroad sector, especially in the Omaha area, and have experience in the Midwest rail arena that will enable him/her to identify potential new hires or acquisitions. Is affable and comfortable at association gatherings, meeting new people and making presentations.
