Job Description:
Determines what areas in the fields of hydrologic engineering, hydraulic and water control management are appropriate for study or investigation. Stays abreast of District overall water resources program. Sets priorities, plans, and provides direction to meet the needs of the District for both technical support and water control management. Provides hydrology, hydraulics, and water control management perspective and expertise while participating in project/study meetings to resolve problems related to scope, direction, level of detail and formulation and evaluation of alternative solutions to engineering problems. Makes determination of necessity of hydraulic model tests to verify complex design features and evaluates results of such tests. Serves as contracting officer's representative. Has supervisory responsibilities to include reviewing and approving personnel actions and dealing with grievances and employee complaints. Qualifications:Click on link below to view qualification standard. General Schedule BASIC REQUIREMENT: Bachelors Degree directly related to this occupation. Once basic requirement is met, applicants must have one year of specialized experience directly related to this occupation equivalent to the next lower grade level. Specialized experience is experience providing hydrologic and hydraulic engineering services, and water control management in support of major water resource projects, primarily civil works. This would include planning, design, construction, operations and emergency management activities. This would also include overseeing the dams and reservoirs to ensure that the reservoirs fulfill their water control related project purposes.
