Job Description:
Major duties include: Development of engine combustion concepts with advanced gasoline direct injection systems in the areas of alternative fuels, homogeneous charge compression ignition, and low emission concepts. Understanding the system level requirements for SULEV emissions with DI. Boost applications. Concept development for meeting performance, fuel economy and emission targets with the demonstration vehicle. Coordinate the calibration and development activities with application groups and engineering partners. Periodically report the development status. Validate the proposed solutions with emissions tests. Contribute to the technical publications. Implementation of System level SW/HW solutions. Job Requirements:
Minimum requirements include: Master's Degree in Engineering. Strong knowledge in engine combustion concepts. Good understanding of linear, nonlinear and adaptive control systems. Experience in system identification and physical based model development. Experience with new generation engine components such as variable valve actuation, direct injection, and electronic throttle control. Strong knowledge on internal combustions engine principles, and engine and vehicle control units. Strong software skills. Strong analytical skills. Preferred (but not required): Good hands-on vehicle skills. Good communication skills. Knowledge on engineering economics.
