Biomedical Repair Technician (BMET):
Location: Tobyhanna Army Depot –Pennsylvania
Supporting: United States Army Medical Materiel Agency (USAMMA)
Travel: 20-30 Trips per year
Security: National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI)
Program Description: The Medical Maintenance Operations Division Reset & Left behind Equipment (LBE) Program at Tobyhanna Army Depot has the mission to repair Reset & Left behind equipment and to restore unit's equipment to a desired level of combat capability and readiness commensurate with the unit's mission. In order to accomplish these important requirements, USAMMA must rely on skilled technicians to repair, overhaul and perform technical inspections on damaged or reconditioned equipment. GRSi technicians must have the skill and training to perform maintenance services on Medical Equipment and Medical Equipment Sets (MES) that have been in storage for extended periods of time or on deployments. Job Description and Duties: Biomedical Technicians will work meticulously with the Medical Maintenance Division to ensure each unit's reset requirements are scheduled, coordinated, targeted and completed. Technicians must have the skill sets and training to conduct services on damaged and overhauled equipment, and medical maintenance on equipment requiring life cycle examination. All performance maintenance checks and services (PMCS) will be conducted IAW by the maintenance requirements of the service manual(s) provided by the manufacturer or the Department of Defense (DOD). The BMET will support USAMMA in maintaining, calibrating, repairing and overhauling the Army's inventory of medical equipment. This includes equipment within APS, units returning from deployments, MRI converted units and equipment on USAMMA's stock record account.
Knowledge and Tools:(required) Technicians will input all required PMCS, calibrations and overhaul services directly into the appropriate military database system or technology.
