COMPANY/CONTRACT BACKGROUND:

P&R Enterprises, Inc. was founded in 1968 and is headquartered just outside Washington, DC in Falls Church, Virginia. It is a regionally-based building services contractor with national and international capabilities. P&R Enterprises, Inc. has had a contract with the Golden Triangle Business Improvement District (BID) since it was founded in 1997. Under the terms of this contract, P&R is responsible for providing Clean Team and Hospitality Ambassadors whose mission it is to ensure that the BID area is clean, safe, and friendly.

The Golden Triangle area is a premier destination in Washington DC, encompassing 42 downtown blocks, from the White House to Dupont Circle and 16th Street, NW to 21st Street, NW. The BID represents over 30 million square feet of commercial office space, 4,000 businesses, 600 retailers, 200 restaurants, eight hotels, and four U.S. National Parks.

The Golden Triangle BID is a non-profit 501(c)(6) corporation.

SUMMARY:

This is a management/leadership position, reporting directly to the Program Manager for P&R. The Director of Operations works with the Program Manager to ensure that the goals of the Golden Triangle Program to maintain a clean, safe and friendly environment are carried out. He/she is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of a team of 28-30 Hospitality and Clean Team Ambassadors, ensuring the implementation of quality standards, as well as adequate coverage and visibility. The Director of Operations’ work hours are generally 6:50 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (first roll call begins at 7:00 a.m.), although some evenings and weekends will be expected from time to time. (Ambassadors work M-F from 7:00 a.m. till 8:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. till 6:30 p.m.). The majority of the incumbent’s time will be spent on the street.


Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:

Two to three years of related experience.
Experience in supervising a team of at least 10 people.
Strong leadership, managerial, and customer service skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to interact with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds.
Sound judgment and decision making skills.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
