Job Description: In this high profile role, you will lead the development and execution of strategies to optimize revenue across all digital platforms, including websites, mobile and other emerging technologies. Interface with senior and executive management to communicate and prioritize initiatives, gain consensus and ensure strategic focus and effective implementation. This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Nielsen Online Group, with heavy daily interaction with market group SVP.
This position has full P&L responsibility for development and execution of global content, ad revenue, business development and strategic partnerships, growth strategy, paid services, and marketing for each online brand within his/her market.
The ideal candidate will be a proven online leader with the ability to integrate and implement best practices/tools/technologies/applications to enrich and enhance the user experience, drive site traffic, manage and expand strategic partnerships and maximize revenue and profitability, and most importantly, and develop a robust online business for his/her market.
This individual must both own the online business for their market, but also be a true partner with their Market SVP, understanding and actively supporting the markets two other delivery channels, face-to-face and print.
Job Requirements: Fully accountable for day-to-day management of each brand within market. Develops and clearly articulates vision strategy and 3 year plan for online business. Prepares and presents to senior management and peers on all strategic matters pertaining to online business opportunities and challenges. Leader of both short- and long-term strategy and vision including: due diligence, financial analysis and business case justification. P&L ownership of all brand online profit centers. Manages 30/60/90/Qtrly/Annual forecast and 3-year strategic planning process. Operational oversight and execution responsibilities of all online activities. Direct responsibility for online brand management staff and third party suppliers/partners. Leads design, planning, and implementation of innovative, value-added growth opportunities including potential traffic-building partnerships, mobile, audio, video and social networking. Manages and oversees of all online editorial content. Partners with brand advertising sales staff to develop integrated online advertising and sponsorship revenues. Collaborates with internal units like audience marketing infrastructure on production processes, resource allocation and communication. Drive business development develop and drive strategic partnerships, affiliate deals and assess potential acquisitions. Proactively responds to opportunities and challenges in the marketplace. Represents the brand and the company at industry events, media and analyst relations.
Qualifications/Experience:
Relevant digital market experience, preferably prior brand management of similar vertical marketplace. 7-10 years of progressive digital media experience including interactive consumer and enterprise strategy, business/content and traffic development and contextual commerce. Strong P&L management experience a must. Brand management content and business development experience. Must be driven and enthusiastic about interactive, mobile media, and emerging digital technologies have high level of creativity and the proven ability to execute on ideas. Superb project management and cross-departmental people management skills. Must have ability to motivate, inspire and challenge team members to deliver on expectations and goals. Ability to solve problems through effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to direct and influence resources. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, employees, media, clients, and strategic partners, and prospects at all levels. Ability to work in a highly competitive and dynamic environment. Bachelors degree required, MBA preferred.
