Job Description:
Responsibilities : - Calculations for rate determinations and preparation of Department of Insurance filings for all existing and new Individual products.-Updates and development of all group rating factors, such as administrative retention allowances, trend projections, area factors, completion factors, deductible tables, manual rates, etc.-Calculation, monitoring, and where applicable system maintenance of all provider payment rates (e.g., professional fee schedules, DRG, etc).- Financial analysis of all proposed payment arrangements (e.g., case rates, hospital discounts, etc) for provider reimbursement. Requirements : Graduation from college with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or other degree with major emphasis in mathematics or statistics and a minimum of ten years of actuarial experience in a health care prepayment organization, typically attained at increasing levels of responsibility. Must be a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Knowledge and Abilities: In depth knowledge of the health care industry, of the principles and practices of mathematics and statistics as related to actuarial work, and of actuarial techniques and the development of rate schedules, funding arrangements, and payment methodologies for health care prepayment coverage.
