Position: Sales Manager Reports To: Regional Cargo Manager
Department: Cargo
JOB PURPOSE: Manage the direct cargo sales and marketing activities of the company in the Northeast Region of the USA. Represent the company in local sales related cargo community events.
JOB DIMENSIONS: Ensure revenue budget is met and/or exceeded; while ensuring strict control of cost budget. Manage a team of Senior Cargo Sales and Services Agents to ensure all day to day sales issues are properly managed, i.e. inside sales, bookings, rate quotes, pricing, etc. Develop / maintain positives relations with freight forwarding community in local region. Establish mutually agreed KPIs with RCM. Conduct 100% follow-up on customer inquiries.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITES: Plan, direct and control all selling and marketing activities of the station and penetrate the local market to secure new sources of revenue. Meet and/or exceed the set cargo revenue targets. Assist RCM in preparing and controlling the Revenue and Cost Budget. Prepare a Business and Marketing Plan in order to optimize revenue opportunities and maximize presence in the market. Direct sales visits with freight forwarding community in local region Research and report other airline practices and recommend corrective action. Evaluate Companys market share, traffic movements to/from the station and other airline practices. Identify areas of concern and instigate remedial action. Ensure companys participation in sales campaigns and public events, collecting sales leads for circulation to concerned departments and stations. Liaise with Marketing department to obtain technical assistance Analyze key market data, i.e. CASS, World ACD, local airport, etc. Weekly sales reporting to RCM. Monthly sales reporting to RCM.
Job Requirements: Educational Qualifications: High School Diploma
Experience: Minimum 5 years in Airfreight Sales Management
Skills/Expertise: Proficiency in budgeting process Knowledge of IATA / TACT Regulations Marketing and Management courses Complete product knowledge and the market practices of the areas under jurisdiction. Sales and Strategic Planning Proficiency in computer applications MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
