Job Description:
ARCHITECT INTERN
Duties and responsibilities of position

The Position requires the normal range of drafting responsibilities and also requires an aggressive promotion of the firm and an outreach to the general public and support of the profession of architecture/planning. The duties and responsibilities are in no way limited by the following:

1. Produce in both hand and CAD drafting as it relates to production of drawings for preliminary presentation and contract documents within the architectural profession.
2. Produce maps, graphs and charts.
3. Layout of varied materials for production.
4. Work with clients and consultants to develop documents to submit for jurisdictions and solicit contractor bids


Job Requirements:

The position requires the following skills and requirements but is in no way limited to the following.

1. To be personable with the ability to work with a variety of personalities, clients, consultants, authorities and contractors to further a project from conception to completion.
2. Ability to Design with all the program and regulative constraints to develop a functional and meaningful project.
3. Knowledge of methods and techniques used in all forms of drafting.
4. Knowledge and ability to translate sketches into actual working drawings.
5. Knowledge of all building materials, sizes, uses and methods of installation.
6. Ability to use and interpolate code and zoning requirements.
7. Ability to work effectively, efficiently and accurately.
8. Ability to produce reproducible materials.
9. Ability to establish and maintain favorable working relationships with clients and the general public.
10. Ability to express oneself clearly and efficiently in design form and translate into working drawings.
11. Ability to meet time schedules.
12. Ability to accept responsibility.
