Objective:
To obtain a position as Architectural Draftsman. With this position I would transform initial rough project designs from Architects, Engineers, Project Managers, Clients, etc., Using computer aided design, i.e. AutoCad 2006. Create working Construction Documents.


Experience:
** Sr. Auto Cad Draftsman

12/2000 - 08/01/08: Metro Architects, Inc, Clearwater, Florida

My past projects with Metro Arch. have been involved in new construction and renovations for both high end and of course the low end of the residential market. I have created Construction Documents for the Redington Grand and Sunset Harbour, both five level Condos on the beach. I have also done a considerable amount of work on multi-family projects both in the Clearwater/St.Pete and Tampa area’s. I have done Construction Documents on both commercial and retail projects from strip centers to warehouses. I have been involved in a few Restaurant Build-Outs. I have done Facade renovations to Laundry centers. My only fieldwork was to gather information to create As-Built documents.

Duties and Responsibilities:

< Architectural Drafting:
Typical tasks were to prepare complete construction drawings and specifications for new construction projects, repairs and/or alterations to existing and new structures. Meet with clients to obtain information about their specific requirements for the job. Make field observations and takes measurements to adapt structure to site. Use various manuals and catalogues and web sites for details, such as door and window dimensions and material requirements, etc. Refer to sketches and measurements provided by architects and engineers to incorporate electrical and mechanical requirements of the project into plans. Using Computer Aided Design (AutoCad 2006) to draw all documents such as plans, site plans, elevations, and sections, and details to prepare a full set of Construction Documents to be permitted.

< Preparation of Specifications:
Typical tasks were to utilize independent judgment and knowledge of construction practices to determine and specify materials and equipment to be used in construction; including all structural members such as: joists, studs, rafters, cover and finish materials such as sheathing, siding, roofing, floor covering, electrical layout wiring, receptacles, and fixtures, and any other special requirements of the project.

< Miscellaneous:
Typical tasks included keeping up to date records, revising documents, and maintain plans of buildings for permanent records. Coordination of construction documents alterations. Prepare blueprints. Interpret drawings for contractors or inspectors who may have problems or questions during construction. Occasionally inspect projects under construction to determine adherence to drawings and specifications.

< Relationships with Others:
Regular contact with clients to obtain and clarify information regarding their requirements for the construction project. Frequently contacting the architects and engineers to discuss various aspects of the project. Occasionally contacting local building officials to obtain permits and clarify codes and regulations. Contacted throughout a project by the contractor to clarify or interpret drawings. Occasionally contacting vendors to obtain information and/or place orders for materials and supplies.

< Supervision:
Worked under general supervision of an Architect, Engineer, and Project Manager who reviewed completed drawings for neatness, technical accuracy using guidelines from Federal, State, and local building codes and regulations, the Florida Building Code, agency rules and procedures, architectural graphic standards.


** Auto Cad-Draftsman

5/2000 - 12/2000 : Alfonso Architects, Ybor City/Tampa, Florida

< Work Experience:
My past projects with Alfonso Architects were in commercial retail. Those projects include Publix shopping center canopy and retails spaces, Kanes Furniture. My duties were to create Construction Documents from information provided from the Project Manager and using information from past projects and personnel. Create Construction Documents for Publix Retail Strip Centers. Such Docs. Include Floor Plans, Details, Wall Sections, Elevations, Roof Plans, Electrical Plans, Etc.

** Sr. Store Planner

03/1984 - 03/2000: Eckerd Corp, Clearwater, Florida

< Work Experience:
My time at Eckerd Corp. was as a Store Planner / Cad Manager. This involved me in creating the complete store database from hand drawings to CAD Documents. Developing new floor plans, pharmacy layouts, Photo Labs and new concepts. Create Fixture Plans for All Eckerd Drug Stores. Create Working Guide Plans for Architects to create Construction Docs. Create Pharmacy Designs. Office Space Planning. Over 3000 + Docs. Created by me over my time there. I created the CAD standards and became the network admin. For the Store Planing Server using a Novel Network. I was also involved in all the space planning for the corporate offices.
