Objective: I would like to become part of an aggressive organization where I am able to utilize my procurement, customer service, negotiating skills, sales and service to procure the right product, at the right price, at the right time. Providing the customer with what they require both in product and service. I am looking for the opportunity to join a company with room for advancement. If you feel I lack some of the qualifications you are seeking, please retain my résumé for future consideration, if an opportunity arises. My experience has mainly been in the MRO Industrial Field, I have B2B, as well as consumer product sales and general all around procurement and customer service experience. In my view all industries are relatively the same, providing the customer what they need, when they require it, and resolving any issues. I have a very strong, out-going personality, and enjoy direct people contact. While working at Ewie in the span of 4 years I was able to increase sales at one account from <$500,000 to almost $5,000,000. While providing a 7% cost savings on existing items. My job at Yutaka was short term as I had moved to Alabama, but had to relocate back to Michigan due to a personal family situation, which has been resolved. My job at A.T. Kearney was a temporary contract position. When the company was sold, my position was terminated. Prior to that I was with Ewie 10 years, receiving promotions, I feel this shows my work ethic and stability. In my positions at Yutaka and Ewie as MRO/Maintenance Inventory/Procurement clerk, I was responsible for acquiring quotes, ordering and receiving inventory into stock, adding new parts into inventory using MainSaver software for MRO items, and Vantage for Maintenance Spare parts. These were both new software programs to me, but I was able to grasp very quickly and use efficiently. This was a new plant start-up, so most items were new and I was responsible for establishing min/max levels. I issued RFQ's to maintain adequate inventory in house, to avoid a shutdown situation, adjusting for lead-times on deliveries. Also, worked with accounting department to resolve any account receivables¡¦ issues and keep them within the agreed upon time frame per terms. I have over 15 years experience in managing these responsibilities. I met with vendors to procure the right product at the most competitive cost, taking into consideration not only price, but delivery and quality as well. I worked on establishing relationships with vendors, so I could get inventory on consignment rather than purchase at an upfront cost to the company. I created PowerPoint presentations which documented production downtime, with possible root causes as they related to the (4 M's) and corrective actions as applicable, these were used by the Maintenance/Engineering Manager to present at the company¡¦s monthly board meeting. I maintained all documentation associated with my job and the Engineering department¡¦s routine office functions. I have general administrative assistant qualifications and am familiar with most office machines, i.e. computer, fax, copier, etc. I have been involved in 5s¡¦ing a plant, lean manufacturing, reduction of inventory and many other aspects to meet all necessary qualifications for Q-1 status. Additionally, set up milk runs to reduce time away from production. In addition, I worked closely with accounting to resolve any receivable issues, making sure that all conditions were met, according to terms. I feel relationships are the backbone of any service industry, and over the years I have made and maintained many, which continue to this day; even though I have changed jobs and many have retired or moved on from their original jobs. If given the opportunity, I will become a very valuable asset to your team. When assigned a task, I strive to meet and exceed all expectations. I feel my diverse background, and experience along with on the job training I have received, overcomes the absence of a Degree in my background. I am a hard worker and am looking for a position that has room for growth utilizing my strengths, while developing my weak points. I feel this opportunity is a perfect fit for me, as it will allow me to make the most of my diverse background and occupational skills. I plan on re-entering college to pursue my degree as soon as I acquire employment. I look forward to discussing your opportunity in greater detail with you. I can be reached on my cell phone at 317-506-9151, or by email at Valerie.j.chapman@gmail.com. I look forward to re-locating to Indianapolis as soon as I secure the right career opportunity.
